Description:

The event is held on 25 acres, of open and wooded area in the high mountains east of Temecula California. (Between LA and San Diego)
Our timeline is 1807-1814 and simulates the Peninsula Wars in Spain and Portugal... there were troops from all over Europe in this region fighting for the Allies or the French French (Bavarians, Saxons, Moroccans, Russians, Turks, Prussians, Greeks, Poles, Lithuanians, Austrians, Swedes, Americans, Irish, etc.). There were numerous guerilla civilians and militia troops and well as main line combatants. All time periods units and uniforms of the Napoleonic Age are certainly welcome as well as the Revolutionary wars with minimal conversion - There is only a six year lapse of time. In the poor sections of Spain and Portugal, not that much changed. Weapons were often 30-40 years old and clothing among the outlying regions was often a half century behind the fashions of Paris or London.

Entertainment:
Special Preparations: Anza is the high desert. Expect warm, dry, but breezy days. Daytime temperatures for this event have been known to range from the 40-60s in the morning to the 80-90s by mid-afternoon. Evenings are generally cold. Plan to dress warmly and prepare for a possible extreme dip into the 30s. This event has experienced snow before, but it is not likely.

Most cell phones work in the area, we ask you to use them out of sight, except for emergencies.

Please remember to bring any medication or special needs.

There are mountain lions, bobcats, coyotes and wild dogs that have been sighted in the area. We may need volunteers to post picket duty during the night. I recommend that you do not bring small pets. Most likely the number of people will scare these animals away from the area.
